President Buhari Still Working From London - Minister Kachikwu Says

Dr Ibe Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum says that President Buhari is still working from London where he is currently receiving medical
treatment.

Kachikwu, who put up a strong defence for
Nigeria’s sick President during a BBC Hard Talk interview in London on Monday, also stated that Buhari had mandated his ministers to stop flying private jets.

The minister said that executive members had
been mandated by the President to fly business class in commercial airlines. When asked about the state of health of the President as his
latest medical vacation entered its second
week, Kachikwu replied, “Yes, he is in London.
He is undergoing hospital treatment, (but) I
don’t know the details of that and I obviously wouldn’t know. But let me say this, he returned
from his first trip in London, even though the doctors advised him to have some rest.

“He’s back to London and he has
continued some levels of meetings and
has been able to play some roles. He has a very efficient Vice-President who
is sitting in for him in his absence. It really hasn’t made much of a difference.”

On whether the President had been transparent
enough to Nigerians as regards his health challenges, the petroleum resources minister
stated that Nigerians were aware of the fact
that Buhari ‘is not too well’.
When asked what was wrong with
Buhari, the minister said, “I don’t know.
But let’s face it; who in the world goes
around giving to everybody what their
medical statuses are? The doctors have
got to be able to release something
official and he’s working through it. It
has not become a major problem.”
When probed further on the capability of
the President to continue in office, the
minister said, “Well, we’ve heard rumours
in Nigeria about sick presidents off and
on, most of them sometimes not quite
correct. Will he be able to lead Nigeria? I
think looking at the sort of conversations
I had with him when he came back, he
was strong enough to do his work,
struggled a bit in terms of trying to fully
recover.
“Nobody plans on illness, it happens. He
has an efficient number two man; the
system works, that’s the whole essence
of democracy. He’s on top of his
abilities to be able to issue policies and
to be able to approve what he needs to
be approved.”Kachikwu maintained that
President Buhari still had the ability to deliver his promises and to take the country to the next level of development.

Asked to explain why Nigeria still has about 11
aircraft for ministerial use despite the economy
suffering a recession, the minister said, “There
isn’t any aircraft for ministerial use. Ministers
don’t use (private) aircraft, we travel public.
There are some presidential jets, some of which
have been put up for sale, although I don’t have
the details.
“But I think it is down from an initial of
about 11 or 12 to something like about
seven and only two or three are really in
proper condition. And I know he’s given some authorisation for some to be sold.
So in terms of numerical accountability he has reduced that substantially.

Ministers are tied to travelling business class by commercial airlines.”

"Chibok Girls Recent Story,A Tactics Used To Divert Attention From Buhari's Health"-Fayose

Ayodele Fayose, governor of

Ekiti state, has described the

report of the release of 82

Chibok girls from Boko Haram

captivity as a tactic aimed at

diverting attention away from the health status of

President Muhammadu

Buhari.

In a statement issued on his

behalf by Idowu Adelusi, his

chief press secretary, the

governor said it had become

the pastime of the Buhari

presidency that each time it was under fire for "under-

performance", it resorts to

"flying dubious kites and

selling cheap dummies" to

distract the people. i Maintaining his stance that

the Chibok girls were not

abducted, Fayose said: "What

is not missing cannot be

found… discerning Nigerians

understand that the stories do not add up". "Right now, a matter of

urgent national importance

arresting the attention of all

and sundry is that of the

president's health. While I

continue to pray, in conjunction with other

Nigerians, for the president's

quick recovery, I condemn

without equivocation this

shameless playing on the

intelligence and psyche of Nigerians taking undue

advantage of the vexed issue

of the so-called Chibok girls,"

the statement read. "It has become the style of

this government to distract

attention but the truth will be

told some day. "The questions are; Which

Chibok girls are they talking

about? Chibok girls who

purportedly were writing

Physics WAEC examinations

but cannot speak simple English? Chibok girls who

were shielded from the

media? Till today the media

have not been allowed access

to the so-called Chibok girls. "When is the next batch of

Chibok girls coming? When is

the next make-believe? "When there is the need for

another cover-up, distraction

and diversion of the people's

attention and focus, they will

fly their usual kite and sell

the self-same jaded dummy." Fayose said it was

unfortunate that Nigerians

refused to heed his warning

on not electing Buhari. "It is very unfortunate that

we brought ourselves to this

sorry pass. I sounded

warnings which,

unfortunately, were not

heeded," he said. "The intolerance of this

government and the way

they are trampling people's

rights, and abridging their

freedoms and liberties bring

echoes of the dictatorship and autocracy of Gen. Buhari's

first coming in 1985. "But, then, there will be a

new dawn for Nigeria very

soon. Keep hope alive

because there will be a new

dawn in our country sooner

than later. The hunger and suffering in the land are at an

unprecedented level right

now while the cluelessness

and incompetence of this

government beggars

believe."

'Jonathan Made Us Delay Anti- gay Bill Because Of Obama’s Re- election' - David Mark

Former senate president,David Mark, says former President Goodluck Jonathan made the
national assembly delay passing the anti-gay bill because of concerns former US President
Barack Obama raised at the time he was seeking re-election.

Mark made this claim in ‘Against the Run of Play’, a book which chronicles how Jonathan
lost the 2015 presidential election, written by Olusegun Adeniyi, a journalist and bestselling author.

The former president’s relationship with the
Obama administration was at first “rosy” before it became frosty.

In the book, Jonathan blamed Obama for his electoral defeat, saying in 2014 it became clear
that the former US president wanted a change of government in Nigeria. This was after he had
signed into law a bill prohibiting same-sex marriage.

Mark told Adeniyi that Jonathan caused a delay in the passage of the bill because of Obama.

“President Jonathan called me that President Obama had sent to him a message of concerns about the bill. That
was in 2012 at a time Obama was seeking a second term in office,” he said.

“President Jonathan asked what could be done and I told him that not only was
I committed to the passage of the bill that was also the position of the national
assembly.
“I said the only thing I could do was
delay its passage till after the American
presidential election. But I assured him
that the same-sex marriage was not
something we would legalise in Nigeria.
“We delayed it for a few months after
that, but we eventually passed the bill
into law and President Jonathan had to
assent.”
The national assembly under Mark passed the
same-sex marriage prohibition bill in May 2013.
And Jonathan signed it into law on 13 January,
2014.
The law prescribes 14 years imprisonment for those convicted of homosexuality.

Donald Trump's Administration May Deport First Lady Melania Trump(See Details)

A technical precedent has been set, which could mean that US First Lady, Melania Trump
could be deported in her husband's administration.

Recently, A Serbian woman was
deported for failing to disclose her husband's history in the military, according to a report by
the Slate.

The First Lady of the United States reportedly
failed to disclose earnings from nearly two months of illegal work in the USA on a visitor's
visa, and subsequently failed to mention the offence on immigration documents.

In 1996, Ms Trump—then Knauss—was paid for modelling work undertaken in the United States while travelling on a tourist visa, according to
documents obtained by the Associated Press.

This violated her terms of entry.
The first lady allegedly earned more than
$20,000 (£16,000) in the seven weeks before
she acquired legal permission to work.

This issue confirms the argument that even an
"immaterial" error on official paperwork can justify deportation, put forward by the Trump administration in a recent Supreme Court case.
